Once on the set, Monroe was known to ask for scenes to be reshot over and over again until she was fully satisfied. It wasn't unusual for her to require 50-60 takes in some scenes! She stated, "We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle." 

• Image-conscious and chameleonic. She worked hard to maintain her glamorous and seductive image, often spending hours on her makeup and outfits. She began her career as a model, where she dyed her brown hair blonde and later adopted the name "Marilyn Monroe". This complete transformation into a different persona highlights her ability to adapt to circumstances to improve her chances of success. Her image as the blonde bombshell was carefully curated to suit the expectations of the era and to carve her niche in Hollywood.

• Fear of failure. Monroe's fear of failure was well-documented. She often suffered from stage fright and was known to be excessively nervous before performances.

• Attention-seeking behavior. Monroe was known for her dramatic entrances and for commanding attention when she walked into a room. She reportedly once said to a friend, "Do you want to see me be 'her'?", before transforming her demeanor and attracting immediate attention from onlookers, demonstrating her understanding of her star power and how to use it to attract attention. She also modeled her persona and poses after Jean Harlow.
