Why we think Debbie Reynolds is a Type 3
Ambition and drive. In interviews, Reynolds spoke about how she had a strong desire for success, and fantasies of stardom from a young age. In part because of this drive, she became an overnight sensation at the age of 19 with her role in the film "Singin' in the Rain." She went on to receive numerous accolades and awards for her work in the entertainment industry, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award, and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
Work ethic. She often spoke about her tendency to never stop working and her desire to be the best at whatever she did.
Posture and demeanor. Reynolds had a poised and confident posture, and a vibrant demeanor. She carried herself with elegance and grace, often exuding an aura of effortless charm. She had a knack for captivating audiences with her charisma and quick wit. She had an infectious energy.
A great promoter of her causes. When speaking about the girl scouts, she spoke confidently and with a great vision to change the group's image from 'square' to 'exciting.' There is a salesy way that she speaks about her causes, which is consistent with the Type 3’s propensity to sell themselves through their causes.
Relationship with fame. In interviews, she speaks about how she was a woman who enjoyed her time in the limelight and seemed to relish the adoration of the crowd.
Image-consciousness. She maintained a polished and glamorous persona, which was critical for her success. She also maintained a strict exercise routine throughout her life, which helped her maintain her health, fitness, and appearance.
Business ventures beyond her main profession. Reynolds ventured into various businesses, including owning a dance studio and a hotel and casino. Even outside of her acting career, she was opportunistic in looking for ways to shine and be successful.
