Upbuild 2025 Community Event
Blockers to Spiritual Receptivity with Sacinandana Swami
New York City - Saturday May 31st
An invitation to Upbuild’s in-person community event this year
We are excited to invite you to our in-person spring Upbuild community event this year. Not only do we get to meet up in the flesh but we have the great fortune to spend an afternoon and evening together over a spiritual talk, kirtan (musical meditation), Q&A, and a sacred meal. And we have the exceptional privilege to be in the presence of Sacinandana Swami. This event is open to everyone: all members of the Upbuild community and anyone you feel inspired to bring along.
Many of you know Sacinandana Swami from Remembering Who We Are and his On the Brink of Death as well as Spiritual Experiences of a Lifelong Monk special series over the years. For those who don’t yet know him, he is my guru and one of the most pivotal guides for Upbuild. We’re thrilled to offer his presence and teachings live to you all and to come together with you in this very special way.
Sacinandana Swami will speak about how we all have the potential for a deeper connection with our true self and when attuned will experience that as the deepest calling there is. But what is it that blocks us from spiritual progress? As he shared in The Spiritual Experiences of a Lifelong Monk – Season 2 – we all have to face off against feeling too lazy, too busy, and too proud. He will walk us through each of these blockers, their impact on us, and what we can do to become free of them and increasingly experience the spiritual reality.
The venue will be in NYC and announced soon to those who register. Please register now and make your travel plans so that we can be sure to have you! Space is limited. There is no fee for joining. We can't wait to be with you in person again!

More About Sacinandana Swami:
Sacinandana Swami has been a monk in the bhakti tradition for 50 years. He has inspired and guided our work at Upbuild since the very beginning in 2008. He is Hari Prasada's guru and has been a very dear teacher to Rasanath as well. He has lovingly invested in us personally and as an organization. He is known for his significant contribution to the practice of contemplation and meditation for modern practitioners of bhakti. Sacinandana Swami has published seven books and released two CDs, and offers an array of retreats, seminars, and workshops. Thousands of enthusiastic singers and dancers visit his kirtan concerts. He teaches at the Vrindavana Institute for Higher Education in India and the Bhaktivedanta College in Belgium. Furthermore, Sacinandana Swami serves as the spiritual guide for the Veda Academy, which is active in eight countries, and recently founded the organization, "Yoga Is Music". Fond of India’s sacred pilgrimage sites, he annually goes there to seek personal inspiration. Although his pilgrimages have taken him all over the subcontinent, he is particularly fond of the sacred land of Vrindavan, the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
