Why we think Jason Segel is a Type 7
Demeanor. His demeanor is friendly, easygoing, and approachable, and he tends to exude a sense of warmth and affability. Segel's humor is usually self-deprecating and laid-back, which contributes to his down-to-earth, easily likable persona (which gives us confidence he has a 6 Wing).
Embracing fun and humor. He has a natural ability to find humor in different situations and make others laugh. He comes across as optimistic and positive in interviews.
Aversion to boredom. Outside of acting, Segel dabbles enthusiastically in various creative pursuits, such as screenwriting, producing, and even puppeteering. This aligns with the Type 7 tendencies to seek focus on self-expression and seek new adventures and experiences. Segal has talked about how he doesn’t like to do the same thing over and over again because he becomes bored and restless.
Making light of challenging situations. In this interview, he describes a breakup as the funniest thing that happened to him. In other interviews, he’s talked about how he used humor as a coping mechanism when he was dealing with anxiety and panic attacks.
FOMO. In his 2015 book "Nightmares!," Segal wrote about how he has struggled with FOMO. He wrote, "As a kid I suffered greatly from FOMO. I felt like I'd be missing out on something incredible if I wasn't everywhere at once.”
Prankster. In interviews, he has shared several anecdotes about pranks he's pulled on co-stars and friends, such as when he pretended to be a hotel employee delivering room service to Paul Rudd's room and surprised him in a giant "lizard" costume.
