Intuition

Intuition is a way of knowing that goes beyond logic. It’s the subtle voice or signal that brings insight without a step-by-step explanation. It might arrive as a hunch, an image, a sensation, a word, or even a song lyric.

As coaches, we are trained to listen deeply, and intuition lives at every level of listening. When we honor it in service of the client, new dimensions of awareness can open.

When we share intuition with a client, it’s important to do so without attachment. We’re not invested in being “right.” We’re creating space for exploration, modeling another way of knowing, and inviting our clients to engage with it in their own way.

In a culture that privileges intellect and sidelines other forms of wisdom, intuition can feel unfamiliar. Yet it’s a muscle that can be strengthened. The more we practice, the more fluent we become in its language.

Ways to share intuition:

• I have a hunch…

• My sense is…

• My gut says…

And then follow with: How does that land for you?

This keeps you unattached, while giving the client permission to agree, disagree, or let it pass.

Coaching application: In each session this week, share at least one intuition using the above language. Remain unattached to it being “right.” Notice what happens for the client as a result of you sharing your intuition.

Life application: Pause during a decision and ask: What intuition am I able to tap into, even if it doesn’t make sense?
